Nuclear weapons are the only weapons of mass destruction not yet prohibited by an international convention, even though they have the greatest destructive capacity of all. Isn’t it time for a ban?
As part of International Nuclear Abolition Week, Hamilton will commemorate the horrors and tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Please join us at the Peace Pole at Hamilton City Hall on Friday, August 9th at noon, followed by a reception at Hamilton City Hall.
Please forward this message to friends and supporters of this important event.
On behalf of various Hamilton Peace and Anti-nuclear groups.
Here’s more information about Nuclear Abolition Week from ICAN. Don’t forget to sign the petition.

This week of action runs from 6 July to 13 July 2013 and is an opportunity for people around the world to demand a treaty banning nuclear weapons, so that these instruments of unacceptable harm and suffering can be eliminated forever.
To commemorate the victims of nuclear weapons and demand a treaty banning them to be negotiated as soon as possible, ICAN has asked people around the world to share their shadows.
The response was amazing. ICAN has received hundreds of pictures that show the world’s determination to get rid of these instruments of unspeakable suffering. Get inspired and share your shadow on http://icanw.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8fea3b2f9c797c5257f8be45c&id=fcd5d43c41&e=fa83ecb682
