In
the evening of July 31st 2001 Mayor Ding Hal Zhong met
with Mr. Solomon Ngan, the representative of our friendship
city Hamilton, Canada.
Mr. Ngan presented a personal letter from Mayor Bob
Wade, extending congratulations to Mayor Ding Hal Zhong
for his successful election as mayor of Ma'anshan in
April this year. Mayor Bob Wade, in his letter, has
indicated his desire to continue developing a stronger
relationship between the two friendship cities in the
areas of education, culture and commerce.
Mayor Ding Hal Zhong has affirmed the successful twining
between the two cities in the past 14 years. He has
extended his sincere congregations to Bob Wade for his
successful election as the first mayor of the new city
of Hamilton on January 1 2001.
Mayor Ding Hal Zhong would very much like to further
the exchanges between the two cities not only in the
areas of education and culture, but also in economics
and trades.
He has given our guest Mr. Ngan a brief history of
the economic and social development of Ma'anshan.
The meeting was also attended by the vice Mayor Chan
Di La, the director of Foreign Affairs Mr. Xia Wenbao,
and other officers from the Foreign Affairs office. |
